Bridal Veil Falls Utah is a stunning waterfall along the picturesque Provo Canyon. It’s one of the most highly visited Utah attractions, with tourists flocking to see this giant waterfall year-round. When we say giant, we’re not exaggerating. Bridal Veil Falls Utah is a whopping 185 metres tall (607 ft), cascading down a sheer cliff face that can be seen from the road. The accessibility alone is one of the biggest reasons Bridal Veil Falls Utah is so popular.
Depending on how adventurous you’re feeling, you can either admire Bridal Veil Falls from afar, which is what a lot of families choose to do, or put your hiking shoes on and get close and personal. WHAT TO EXPECT AT BRIDAL VEIL FALLS UTAH
Before going all the way up to Bridal Veil Falls Utah, we stopped at the lookout to take in the view from afar. Despite having been to the falls time and time again, we’d never actually been to the lookout until now. It offers a great perspective of the falls in all their glory.
After the lookout, we made our way to the base of Bridal Veil Falls. It’s a 10 minute leisurely stroll from the parking lot to the base of the falls. This is where most kids play around in the stream. There’s not much in the way of a swimming area, but its still a fun spot for little adventurers to explore amongst the rocks and foliage.
HIKING TO BRIDAL VEIL FALLS UTAH
If you just want to snap a few photos from a distance, then you can call it a day. But, if you’re anything like us and want to explore a little more, then it’s an easy 5-10 minute hike from the base to the first level of Bridal Veil Falls Utah. Don’t be fooled by the side trails that go straight up the hill – they might look like the main trail but they aren’t and they’re a lot more difficult. Take the lefthand trail which will take you up to the first level.
We spent some time at the first level of Bridal Veil Falls Utah before making our way farther up the mountain to the second level. This track is a lot less traversed and is a bit more difficult and dangerous, but it’s well worth the effort.
The second level is the most impressive, with several different cascades and nooks and crannies to explore. Compared to the base and first level of Bridal Veil Falls, it was totally isolated with most tourists choosing not to venture this high.
We decided to climb just a little farther up, and we’ve heard it is possible to climb all the way to the very top but we decided to give this a miss as we were quickly losing daylight hours. The view from up here was plenty good enough for us.
HOT TIP: VISIT DURING FALL
If you visit Bridal Veil Falls Utah during the fall, you’ll be able to catch some golden foliage. We absolutely recommend it, as it makes everything just that little bit more magical.
