Tumalog Falls in Oslob is one of the most picturesque waterfalls in South Cebu. A sheer curtain of water trickles down the limestone cliff face, collecting in a large basin of milky blue water at the foot of the falls. Tumalog Falls is a popular destination for tourists in the area, who usually make a stop after visiting the Oslob whale sharks in the early morning. Here’s everything you need to know about visiting this popular South Cebu tourist spot in 2022.

SOUTH CEBU TOURS
HOW TO GET TO TUMALOG FALLS
Tumalog Falls is in the small town of Oslob, at the very southern tip of the island of Cebu. It’s quite a journey from Cebu City, taking around 4 hours with your own transport, longer still on a bus. Since there are so many things to do in South Cebu, we recommend spending a few days minimum in the area to make the most out of the long trip.
TUMALOG FALLS TOUR
There are a lot of tour agencies providing combined Oslob Whale Shark and Tumalog Falls packages, but if you’re looking for the most hassle-free, convenient option, we recommend booking online ahead of time with GetYourGuide. This particular tour includes:
- – Return hotel transfers from Cebu City/Mactan
- – Private chartered car
- – All entrance, environmental and snorkelling fees
- – Local lunch with ocean views
- – Swim with the famous Oslob Whale Sharks
- – A visit to Tumalog Falls
TUMALOG FALLS ENTRANCE FEE
If you’re just looking to make a DIY trip to Tumalog Falls then you can skip everything else and just pay the ₱20 entrance fee and make your own way to the falls.
WHAT TO EXPECT AT TUMALOG FALLS
Rumour has it, Tumalog Falls actually inspired scenes in the movie Avatar (no, not the Last Airbender), and whilst we don’t know how true this is, there’s no denying its beauty. Surrounded by towering bamboo and tropical trees, Tumalog Falls stands out as an oasis in the jungle.
The spray is gentle, and when the light hits just right, the water glitters in the sunshine. Moss and ferns cover the limestone cliff, adding to the otherworldly, tropical feel of the entire place. Swimming in the turquoise water and standing under the falls felt like being in a dream.
